... however tonight, we escaped our four walls for dinner with "locals", and got to enjoy some southern hospitality in a lovely home. Our hostess even made a Red Velvet White Chocolate Cheesecake, from the magazine, Southern Living - I recognised it as I'd only bought a copy myself, yesterday.
It was lovely to eat and drink alcohol in the company of grown-ups, and have some adult conversation. It was also good to see another house to get an idea of what's around. It was an impressive home with, amongst other things, an amazing bathroom and massive back yard. Their ensuite was like something you'd find at a resort with double everything: basins, showers with extra jets, walk in robes, etc. and a spa bath! Mm, I could see myself enjoying that, after Dave takes the kids away for a week - he owes me!
Daniel and Isabella were the only kids there but managed to behave all night, though I did have to hide a basketball from Daniel - there was just too much glass around. He did quite enjoy the boat, though!
More socialising tomorrow, after Dave gets back, then down to some serious house and car hunting.
Just wondering how that cake would be served. Clearly a bread and butter plate is out of the question.
